October is now officially over. We wrapped it up in the same festive way we'd been spending the entire month!! On October 30th I realized we hadn't even carved our jack-o-lanterns!!! That's how crazy our month of playing had been. So I quickly helped the kids carve the faces of their choice. Alas, it was not a family event this year. Darin was at work and we would not have time that evening. Nothing like leaving the most important Halloween event til the last possible minute!!
The day of Halloween the kids had their class parties at school. They both had a great time. After school my sister, Shari, came to visit us. She was in town from Seattle, and the kids LOVE her because she pays them so much atention!! Only Ellie would try on her costume for aunt Shari. Logan was DONE with costumes, but did agree to wear it one more time that night for trick-or-treating. It was the PERFECT evening for trick-or-treating. A tiny bit of rain, but nothing that took us indoors. It was warm enough that we didn't even need jackets. We enjoyed the walk and how grown up the kids are. They don't need us--we just get to stand back and watch them in action. We loved running into so many friends out and about. When we finally made it home, Logan and Ellie sat out on the porch for at least an hour, recruiting trick-or-treaters. Logan would walk to the corner and call them over to our street. They were so cute out there holding the basket of treats, snuggling in blankets and laughing at who-knows-what.
Perfect end to a perfect Halloween season. Now, if only that darn candy would disappear, before it all ends up ON me!! Today we took down the Halloween decor and put out Thanksgiving stuff. Hello November!!! (And FYI, It IS LEGAL to listen to Christmas music in November!!! Those of you that know me, know that it is nothing short of a miracle that I waited until now!!! Don't worry bloggers, I'll wait til December to have holiday music on my blog!!)

Yeah right, Miriam. We all know you have been listening to Christmas music since July.
Since I have started blogging a month ago I am so addicted but I feel a bit like a stalker! Sounds like your family had a wonderful Halloween. Yesterday Dylan said in the car to me (I don't know what prompted it) "Ellie and Logan are my friends even though they are in a different primary class". Cute!
