Christmas Mission Impossible: Little Angel

Here it is--the post you've all been waiting for!! Little Angel LIVES ON!!! Once upon a time, back in May, there was a garage sale. Yep, a yard sale, right here in our little community. I let the kids buy what they want with their money at garage sales. Within reason--there's only so much junk you can let the kids haul home!! Well, Ellie REALLY wanted this little stuffed bunny. It is actually an infant rattle. She paid her own hard earned $0.25 for the thing!! From that day forward, "Little Angel" has been a part of the family, the biggest source of contention between Logan and Ellie, and the toy that most drives me IN SANE!!! The thing has a life of it's own. The kids coo and gush over her like she was the CUTEST thing on planet Earth. They fight over it and Ellie gets her way all too often, by bribing Logan with time to play with Little Angel. I don't get it--I really don't--but they LOVE the thing. In the pictures below, they have Little Angel all decorated with play dough--back in August. The other two pictures are from this month. Make it a point to notice how FILTHY dirty the thing is!!

So, Santa Claus is coming to town, and WHAT does Logan ask him for?? You guessed it--his OWN Little Angel!!! Give me strength!! You have GOT to be kidding me!! He sat right on Santa's lap and asked for one. "I want a Little Angel". You can bet Santa had no clue what that meant. It was all over from there--Logan KNOWS Santa will bring it to him. The "Peanut the Fluffy Dog" incident last year proved it. (Another magical story from Logan's point of view. Another barely saved-by-EBay on Christmas Eve story from Mommy's point of view!!) The next Santa we saw was warned ahead of time and when Logan asked for a Little Angel, Santa promptly told him, "We might be all out of those." Didn't really register with Logan. There is no "all out" at the North Pole.
Enter EBay!!! Yep, I found the little devils, I mean angels. They even had a blue puppy Little Angel. I thought that would be perfect for Logan, and Ellie could have the new bunny one. Since hers was so thrashed. I ordered them both. Just in case--I showed Logan some pics online of them. Wasn't the little puppy cute? And wouldn't he love it if Santa brought him a Little Angel blue puppy?? "Yes, mom. But I still want a pink bunny one. I know Santa will get me one." So, Christmas morning his wish comes true--two Little Angels sitting in the top of his stocking. One blue puppy and one pink bunny. And one ECSTATIC little boy!!!! Oh the joy!!!

Two nights before Christmas, I thought I'd better try to refresh the original Little Angel for Ellie, since she wouldn't be getting a new one after all. I scrubbed that thing, Oxy-d it, bleached the white parts, and put on a new ribbon. See the photo below of the old and new Little Angels side by side. I think I cleaned her up right nice!!! I bet you can all guess what Ellie now wishes she had!!! A blue Little Angel Puppy!!! NO WAY!!! I told her she did not ask Santa for one, so she doesn't get one!! Three of the little things will surely push me over the edge of insanity!! The voices, the drama, it's hard to explain!!! It's one of those things that kids do that is cute for seven minutes. But seven months later it starts to get old!!! What can I say--doesn't matter if I like the things or not. Santa grants wishes, works magic, and lights up children's eyes and hearts!! Anything to make my children believe!!!! Believe in the magic!!! Welcome to the family, Little Angels 2 and 3.

That totally kills me! You are too good. Ezra asked for an eraser + a squishy ball-- but he didn't get them! (and didn't even notice, thank goodness!) Nice job cleaning up the old little Angel. Your photoshop skills amaze me! I still can't make a collage-- I think you need to come over...
