Gingerbread Houses!!!

Last night we made gingerbread houses. This is our third year making them with the kids. Once I made the parts from scratch. It may happen again in this lifetime--but not this year. We bought the little kits with the nice little tray to hold the houses. Of course we had to supplement the candy supply. Not a whole lot comes in those kits. Logan and I were a "team" and Darin and Ellie worked together. Darin and I served as the "glue-squeezers". And the kids got to make all the decorating executive decisions and placement of the candy. Logan's roof idea was pretty heavy--which is why I am holding it in place to dry.
Fun tradition!!! The houses are now proudly on display in the kids bedrooms.

Reminds me of the "Hansel and Gretel" story. Or the Jan Brett version of "The gingerbread baby". There's just something magical about all this confections--something very "elf-ish" and "North Pole like". Wishing you all "visions of sugarplums!!"
