Kindergarten Christmas Performance.

The local elementary school has a program called, "Arts in the Park". November and December was the kindergartners turn to participate. They learn art, acting, and music. The art teacher left for a new position just before the K-classes started. I was asked to fill in for the art teacher for the five kindergarten classes. It was really fun for me to be back in the classroom. Art is not my speciality, and the previous teacher told me exactly what to do. But even not "doing my own thing", it was really fun for me. This week the five K-classes had an evening performance for the parents. They sang several songs. "Jingle bells"--using bells. Here comes Suzy Snowflake--which my kids LOVE to sing now. And "We wish you a Merry Christmas". Ellie keeps informing us that it is not "piggy pudding", but "figgy pudding". They did a little play called the "Christmas ABC's". Ellie's letter was D, for decorate. She wore pajamas as her costume and helped decorate the tree. Logan's letter was S, for snowball. He wore outdoor clothing for his costume and threw "snowballs" at the other kids.
Ellie is holding a snowman painting that she made with me in the arts class. All the K-students artwork hung on the walls for the performance. The gal in the picture with Ellie is her WONDERFUL kindergarten teacher!!!! No cute shots of Logan with his painting, or his teacher--that boy was pretty much running out of there as soon as it was over. And there were very few still moments to catch the boy in the act of singing. But I did get that shot of him ringing his jingle bells!!!
Gotta love kindergarten performances--there must have been DOZENS of cameras clicking. All the parents were proud as punch--myself included--at the chaotic, hilarious, choppy, DARLING, PERFECT performance!!! Way to go Logan and Ellie--your parts were done with excitement and enthusiasm, and you knew all the words to all the songs!!!

Next year save me a seat on the front row-- we couldn't tell who any of the kids were. Cute program!
