Finally Five!!!

Since the 6th birthday parties have already happened--I figured I 'd better get going and finally post the blog about the kids turning FIVE!!! We had a combined boy/girl party for Logan and Ellie last year when they turned five. It was a circus--LITERALLY!!! We had over 50 kids come, only three of which were cousins. These kids have SO many friends!!! The party was a blast, and luckily my sisters, Naomi and Rachel helped me out, and a few moms stayed to help. (Probably because they were worried their child would be buried alive in the chaos!! We had a great magician perform--Logan and Ell are holding his dove in the photos. We had a bounce house, played with the parachute, had face painting, and who knows what else!! We did not open gifts at the party--that would have taken HOURS!! Such a party-to-remember, for such an age to remember!!

This past year so much has happened for Logan and Ellie while they have been five!! They graduated from their second year of preschool. Below are pictures of Ellie with her preschool teacher, Miss Melissa, and Logan with Miss Melodi. Such perfect teachers for my kids that year!! They worked wonders!! After a quick summer it was time for that life-defining moment--starting kindergarten!!! Go back to the first posts on my blog to read the entire starting school saga. Drama for the mamma--cake for the kids!!

A few of the highlights of the past year are: They both passed levels 1 and 2 in swimming, jump off the diving board with no life-jackets, and can swim across the pool. Traded in their midget bikes for big-kid bikes. Mommy cried at that one!!!

A big event for Logan was uncle Fodie's wedding. Why???? Because this little boy of ours VOLUNTARILY wore a BUTTON-UP shirt!!!!!! First time in about two years. But he understood how important the wedding was, and thought he got to go in the temple for it. So he wore buttons and tie!!! Hasn't happened since--and that was in May '08.

The kids finished up a year of gymnastics, took a few music lessons, and participated in a Summer Kids Club group. We took a family trip to exciting Boise, Idaho!! And a real treat of a trip to Columbus, Ohio to visit cousins Maddie and Savannah. Finished up a years annual pass at The Children's Museum, and just got rid of the outdoor play equipment to make room for big kid stuff.

Posted by PicasaCan't believe my "babies" are all done being 55555!!! Tuesday it is official--but for one more day I can say, "They are five and a half!!!"
