Little Aleena Kay comes to stay!!

This is my darling, adorable, sweet, hilarious little niece, Aleena. She has been staying at our home since Sunday while her mom and dad are on a cruise. I told my sister I would post blogs about our week for her to check while they were gone. Well..they come home tomorrow, and this is my first post about the week with Aleena!! Luckily they didn't have Internet access anyways--so they didn't miss the blog posts!!

Aleena is so easy to take care of. She loves to do "projects" and keeps herself busy for long periods of time. While she was here we painted twice, played play dough, did puzzles and games, had a picnic, went to McD's play land, watched plenty of shows, did coupon shopping, went to the doctor, and STUFF!!

The weather was OK part of the week. Here the kids are being monkeys on the swing set that they are way to big for. It's more Aleena's size. They sure look happy and healthy!!?? Well, not really. Aleena had a fever the day before this, and has been coughing all week. Not to mention what she calls, "the bad poops". I think she got confused somewhere along the way about having a cold. She thinks when you ARE cold (brrr), you HAVE a cold. So when ever she was cold or shivering, she would tell me, "brrr I cold, I need purple medicine."

Today we took Ellie to the doctor to discover two massive ear infections, and one with a burst eardrum. I really am not that neglectful!!! She only complained of an earache yesterday!! We sure have been sick a lot lately, and life just goes on as usual. Maybe I need to act like we are sick when we are--and we might get better!!

We borrowed a toddler bed for Aleena so she could have her own little space. It worked out perfect!! Naomi--sorry if her sleep patterns are a bit off for the next few days. She's been up at the crack of dawn most days with my kids. NOT her normal routine. But she sure is flexible and easy to take care of!! She is a two year old with the vocabulary and sentence structure of a seven year old!!! What's not to love about a teeny, tiny, walking, talking princess with a bossy streak!! She had me laughing all week!! She often calls for me at the TOP of her lungs until I come. She usually has to tell me something really important like, "I'm playing blocks, OK."

Posted by PicasaShe is starting to miss her mommy and daddy and I know she will be so excited to see them. Wednesday she said, "my mom and dad got lost." I reminded her that they were not lost, they were on the big boat. "My mom and dad got lost on a big boat." Today Logan started crying when I told him she was going home tomorrow. Also today when I was loading she and Ellie in the car after the doctors appointment...(the appointment that had me so far beyond my wits end with Ellie climbing the walls to dodge a shot)...I was in a rush to get to the store for the meds and then back home before Logan got home form school. I was telling Aleena "no, you have to wait til we get home". And Ellie said, "Mom, just talk nice to her." She and Logan both were so cute with her. Tonight Ellie told me she wishes Aleena was her little sister. We are so happy she is our little cousin. We love you Aleena!!
