Happy Easter Sunday

We've had a fun Easter weekend here at our house. Yesterday was full of three Easter egg hunts. Actually, we call them "Easter egg races". Not sure what it is about community hunts--but nobody actually hides eggs anymore. They just spread them around, and make the kids run at "go". Whatever--the kids still love it. They also had fun on the giant blow-up slide at one of the "hunts". They went to a neat primary Easter activity where they rotated to different rooms learning parts of the Easter story and the resurrection. Ward members were dressed up as characters from the story. I was the narrator in the room were Mary Magdalene told her story. It was great to participate and see the kids reactions.

This morning before church we gave the kids scripture bags to hold their scriptures on Sundays. We also gave them each their own mini copy of the Children's Primary songbook for them to read and sing along in Primary. These fit nicely in their scripture bags as well.

We came home from church to the surprise of a visit from the Easter bunny!! The kids were SO excited. They got to find their Easter baskets through clues in a treasure hunt. (Darin's family tradition growing up.) They were thrilled with the hunt!! Their baskets were full of fun things like punching balloons, sticker books, puzzles of the Saviour, stuffed animals, and of course, a chocolate bunny and Peeps. They also found an empty Easter basket, which had a note telling them to go for an Easter Egg hunt outside. It was a beautiful day and the kids had such an exciting time actually hunting for eggs!!

Thanks again for your help at the primary activity!
