Last year the kids BEGGED all summer to have a lemonade stand and sell treats. This year we thought we'd check that off our list nice and early in the season. So today we had a yard sale--mostly so the kids could do well at their lemonade stand. Not a lot of people come to a lemonade stand--but folks come out to yard sales!! So we sorted stuff this week and found enough to have a small sale. We were shocked that things flew off the tables the first 30 minutes--and that's 30 minutes before we were even scheduled to start!! Pleasant surprise for all of us--a little extra cash in the pocket for mom and dad, and a big chunk earned for Logan and Ellie to put towards Lagoon. They are earning their own money to go to Lagoon this summer. (An amusement park.)
They didn't actually bake the goods, but they sure did sell them. Ellie manned the cookies and Logan served the drinks. They sold sugar cookies, gingersnaps, brownies, and strawberry lemonade. They also each had to choose about 15 of their things to sell. I was proud of them giving up their toys and staying at the lemonade stand. They are half way to Lagoon for sure!!
FUNNY STUFF!!
After lunch Darin decided to take the kids golfing. He has taken them both before, but was hesitant to take them both at the same time again. Apparently for good reason!! Today Logan fell off the cart when Ellie accelerated and she ran over his leg. He's fine!! And, Ellie got stung by a bee, which I am sure the entire course HEARD!!!

How in the world do you find the energy to do it all, Miriam??? You exhaust me! :) Great idea about having the kids pick out 15 toys to sell...love that! Miss you!!!
I saw your add on ksl thats a great idea 15 toys, I should do that with all my kids.
Maybe next time things will go better with golfing.
sounds like a success. And I got a good chuckle imagining such a golf game.
