Thanks to the pioneers who settled this great state--Darin had work off Friday!! He took the kids golfing and swimming, and we went out to eat at a Chinese buffet. We're not huge buffet fans--but it's one of the few local places we can get BOTH kids to eat. Logan was going to town on all the authentic Chinese foods--he loves it all. Ellie, on the other hand--she had a hard boiled egg, mandarin oranges, jello, and garlic toast!!
The kids have been doing awesome in their second round of swimming lessons this summer. They are in level three and are starting to learn how to dive. They were really excited to show Darin what they had been practicing. They are definitely little fish!!
We decided on pretty short term notice Saturday to have a BBQ with a few friends. We had some great folks come hang out with us and we had a feast!! We baked and grilled Alaskan salmon that Darin caught this month. Of course there were hot dogs and chicken on hand for the anti-fish folks.
Here are Logan and Ellie picnicking in the backyard with the twelve kids that we had over. They all had a grand time together. One little friend got stung twice by a wasp. Come to find out--there were multiple wasp nests under our slide. Darin took care of those in a hurry. It's so great to live in a place where we have such true friends and neighbors. A man speaking in church today said he thought we'd be hard pressed to find even five better paces in the world to raise kids than Stansbury Park. I must admit--I think I agree!!! Love this place--love the good people. Happy 24th of July weekend everyone!!
