Preschool year, age three. Logan started out with a Nick Jr. "Face" backpack. He hopped on the bus twice a week with his backpack, and headed off to the Early Learning Preschool at the elementary school. I guess we didn't snap a picture of the backpack Ellie used for Joy school.
Preschool year, age four. Logan still using his Nick Jr. backpack. Sometime that year we switched to his first Thomas pack. And Ellie is off to "Small Wonderz Preschool" with her new Dora The Explorer backpack.
Kindergarten, age five. Logan starts school with his second Thomas backpack, complete with matching water bottle and Frisbee. And Ellie starts with a Disney Princess pack. The Cinderella dress had real shimmery fabric.
And this year, First Grade, age six. Logan starts off the year with his red, white and blue pack. And Ellie is on to her second Disney Princess pack.
I have always loved to take pictures of the kids from behind. Maybe to remember how I last see them at each new step in life--walking away from me and towards Independence.

How fun. I feel like a cheap mom. Wyatt's only on his second backpack in 4 years + Ezra is using Wyatt's old one. Man, I need to step up!
