Friday evening we decided to head on up to Cache Valley for the weekend. I was a big slacker and hardly used my camera--so you'll have to use your imagination to picture the good times we had. Here are a few of the things that Sam and Marilyn sent us home with. They always send us off with treasures!!! Corn on the cob and red potatoes from Sam's incredible garden, and a 3-months supply of fish crackers that Marilyn picks up at the Pepperidge Farms outlet store. Not to mention the leftover ham, lemon pepper chicken, and on and on!!! We are so spoiled when we stay there!! Thanks guys!!
On of the reasons we took this weekend trip was to go to the county fair that Darin and I grew up with. The Cache County Fair is so fun!! The kids got to be in a little sack race contest. Logan won a prize. They both got to climb a rock wall, and played on some display playground equipment with all their Daugs cousins. They were also more than happy about the cotton candy!!!Just the day before they had watched the movie, "Charlotte's web". Logan and Ellie were both SURE they would see Wilbur, Charlotte, and Templeton the rat, at the fair. They kept asking which pig was Wilbur, and kept an eye on the trash cans for Templeton.
We checked out all the pigs, sheep, chickens, and rabbits. It was fun for the kids to see their cousins winning ribbons on the produce that they had entered. We decided next year we'd better have Logan and Ellie enter some stuff in the fair.
Our first night we slept at aunt Rachie's house. Bonka Don was out of town. Saturday morning I had a yard sale with Naomi and Alison. It was pouring rain and we thought for sure we'd have to cancel. But we improvised and had the sale on the porch and in the front room of Dad's house!! We all sold a ton of stuff!! Logan and Ellie played with cousins non-stop, and I had a great time with so many family members hanging out all day, and friends stopping by. This picture is the only pic I took all weekend. It's a few of the Daugs cousins having their gourmet lunch of hot dogs and spaghettios!!
Darin was able to go fishing, and played tennis, shopped, and went to lunch with his brother and sisters. The visits always fly by without enough time to spend with everyone. But we enjoyed the time we did have with our families, and the refreshing beauty of the valley. We ALMOST came home with a cat!!That was a close call!! Grandma Jones had a cat follow her home from a walk the other night. Logan, Ellie, and their Jones cousins, Marc, Ashley, and Tyler played with the thing non-stop. And of all people---Darin actually liked the thing!!!

I love the fair! The county fairs seem to be the way to go-- FREE! (cuz you end up spending enough as is...) Glad you had a good time.
