School. School. School.

Logan and Ellie are both loving first grade. A few challenges have popped up, but I think we'll get a handle on them. Logan made a little "All about me" book. He doesn't have a pet, so on the pet page he drew "pickles". That's Bonka Don's dog. I think it's so CUTE!!!

Last week Ellie brought home this writing page and I was so excited!! I love it that she'll write so much!! I just think it's so sweet!! All spelled "how it sounds". Gotta love that she spelled "family" with a "ph" because she remembered that also makes the "f" sound!!

We are so blessed to know the kids both have great teachers. I am in full swing substitute teaching kindergarten all day, so I get to see a little of what is going on at the kids school. I don't like it one bit that I can't volunteer in their classrooms, because I am teaching myself. It just makes me realize even more how much full-time employed moms have to sacrifice.

Looks like I'll be teaching these two kinder classes until Thanksgiving. WAY longer than I had anticipated. But there is a two week old baby coming home from the hospital tomorrow weighing less than 4 pounds!! And she will need her mommy full time while she gains some weight!! So, even though it's longer than I had planned, and I NEVER want to go back to work full-time, I am happy to be helping, and loving the time in the classroom. I still haven't figured out how to run things smoothly at home while I am working, but we're trying some new things this week. Including....Darin buying all the groceries, and planning dinners, and doing dishes!! YIPPEE!!! I don't think he'll be carrying my coupon box into the store with him.....but it's a load off my shoulders for now!! Worth sacrificing some of the best coupon deals. Never thought I'd say THAT!!!
