We Wish You A Merry Halloween !!!

OK folks---I CANNOT HELP IT!!!!! Tonight...this VERY night, for the FIRST time in the history of our marriage..........DARIN PUT UP CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!!!!! I know, I know....it's not even Halloween. But he wanted to do it before the snow comes...and it might snow tomorrow. I can't complain!!! I have wanted lights on our house FOREVER!!! Friday night on our date Darin agreed to buying them...and now they are ON MY HOUSE!!! It might as well be Christmas morning---I am so excited!!! I am going to TRY to leave them turned off until November 1st!! They are the classic colored bulb kind---you know, the ones that look like a gingerbread house. no graceful, modern white icicles for us---it's all about nostalgia for me!!! AAAAAHHHHHH!!! THANK YOU DARIN!!!!!! We put them up for FHE--and the kids even got to take turns walking on the roof!! FYI--Halloween night Christmas music starts on the radio stations!!!
OK, OK, now back to the current holiday. Yesterday we carved the kids jack-o-lanterns with them. And our house was full of autumn smells!!
I tried baking pumpkin for the first time ever. These are the face pieces we cut from the pumkins. Darin and Logan both ate a bit. Ellie and I didn't touch it. but it smelled good!!

I also baked the pumpkin seeds with seasonings. They are GOOD!!!

And, to use up some apples that were too soft, I heated them on the stove with cinnamon and the house smells heavenly!!!

Posted by PicasaSo....even though I am WAY TOO excited about my new Christmas lights.....I am not one to skip Halloween and Thanksgiving!!! I hope the perfect Fall weather holds out and that we have more chances to crunch through the leaves!!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Yay I am excited for you!, maybe we will string some around our front door this year, since we are actually in a house...and i know my dad has some bulb lights hidden in his garage he refused to put up for us as kids. all your fun halloween festivites make me want to be homemakerish too, i think i need to go dig out the holiday smelling candles out of the closet. give your cute kids a hug for me, i wish you guys lived closer so we could do fun activites together! love you!

Ohhh, you just made my mouth water. Yummy! And congrats on the Christmas lights - can't wait to see them (and it sounds like I won't have to).
