To start off our official Halloween evening, we moved the jack-0-lanterns from the deck to the front porch to light. Last year ours got smashed by some late-night tricksters, so the kids wanted to keep them on the back deck this season.
We started trick-or-treating early in the evening, because the kids love to get back to hand out treats. They enjoy handing them out more than collecting them!! We walked and watched the kids ring doorbells for a couple of hours. And then it was back to the house to survey their stash and start answering the door.
It was a calm, fun Halloween night. Our kids are growing up so fast. But each new age is so much fun, and these special events are enjoyable for all of us. Happy times!!
