At this very moment, Ellie's dance group is their final dress rehearsal for their long-awaited and practiced-for Nutcracker performance tonight. But alas...Ellie is not with them!! I think I am more sad than she is at this point. She is too sick to care right now. Sunday night she was completely fine. Monday morning she woke up with a pretty bad cold. And by Monday evening we had her at the doctor. Fever of 102.5 and a positive strep test!!!! Aaaahhhhh!!! She does not take oral antibiotics, so she had to get a whopper of a shot in her leg. So she is still contagious for today, can't walk well on her "shot leg", has a high fever, no voice, and hot red cheeks. Poor little thing!!! She sure is a good sport when she is sick. And still beautiful with her feverish look.
I am so sad that she won't be in the Nutcracker. We have so been planning and planning on this!!! Ellie has gone to extra evening practices and a Saturday practice!! We paid for the costume and arranged for her to receive roses after the performance!! Maybe by some miracle she will be able to go by tonight?? It's that time of year and I BELIEVE!!!
