Well, by now most of us have "put away Christmas", or "packed up Christmas" or "taken down Christmas". What?? Is this what we do with Christmas? I have decided that it bugs me!!! I am all for starting the holidays early--we all know that. But I do not decorate until after Thanksgiving, and I think that is reasonable!! So if we start a month early--why don't we extend a month after?? Seriously....some of you know you took your tree down Christmas afternoon, and others wish they could have.
Well, it's January 6th and my Christmas stuff is officially "put away" until next year. I waited until today, because my kids have been using the huge tree box as an airplane the past two days--complete with drawings. Those would be the drawing they asked if they could put on the box, AFTER they had already done it. Which is no big deal--it's a cardboard box. But here's the funny thing. Logan was pleading with me, "mom, please can it be a Christmas tree box AND an airplane?" Sure, why am I in a hurry to "pack it all up" anyways??
So, this year, at least for a little while longer, I am leaving two items out. This is the globe I bought this year and wrapped up for the family gift. I try to get a new globe each year. And this is our first globe displaying "the true meaning of Christmas". The other item is this sign I made at a Super Saturday activity. It says, "Are you among the Inn crowd, or one of the STABLE few?" I figure these two things are good reminders to have around of why it is we celebrated Christmas a couple of weeks ago...and what it should mean to us all year round.

I love that quote about the stable few. When are we going to get together? I miss visiting with you.
I didn't know you collected globes! I will try to remember that!
