Anniversary Vacation!! Part 1 - Point Arena Lighthouse.

Darin and I just returned last night from an eight day vacation celebrating our 15th anniversary. A HUGE shout out for my sister Naomi for staying at our home for six days with the kids, and for Grandma keeping them at her home for two days, and for aunt Rachie's help. THANK YOU!!! What an enormous blessing to have peace of mind about our kids while were gone.

We flew into Oakland, CA and went straight to our favorite California restaurant--Wahoo's Fish Tacos!! We LOVED that place when we lived in southern California, and if we are within an eight hours drive of the place--we'll drive it!! Then we spent some time shopping, crossed the San Fran bridge, and stayed in a hotel for the first night.

The next day we had a fabulous breakfast, and headed up the scenic northern California coast. I was IN LOVE with all the farmland and countryside. We saw some of the most spectacular ocean views ever!! The drive was an adventure--and I have NEVER been on such twisty-turny roads in my life!!
We made a stop at The Point Arena Lighthouse and took a tour. It was really nifty to climb the spiral stairs to the top and look around. You can walk outside around the top and it was soooo windy!!

This picture was taken from the top of the lighthouse. The lighthouse, and the little gazebo you see over in that grassy area, were used in the filming of the movie, "Forever Young" with Mel Gibson.
