LUCKY day for Darin and the kids!!

Maybe the luck O' the Irish is rubbing off on Darin and the kids, just two days before St. Patrick's Day. Because TODAY, they FINALLY got a DOG!!!! Which means after years and years I have finally given in!!! We have been going back and forth about pets for months now---and for years over a dog. I guess it's time the Daddy and the kids have a DOG!! We thought we were after a chocolate lab for sure. But after a little research a Golden Retriever was the final call.

This little guy is a pure breed golden retriever. He has only been with us a couple of hours. He is pretty nervous, but already really likes Darin and follows him around. He is quiet and cuddly, and already had his first bath. His tummy didn't like the four hour car ride so much!! The kids are thrilled and have decided to call him "Lucky". I am not too sure about that name, but it may stick.

He is just a couple of months old, which we wanted, so the kids can take part in training him. he will be an outside dog. For now he will have to sleep in his little portable kennel. It will take a week or two to get a big fenced kennel and a doghouse, a cement pad poured, etc. Yes, we are going all out. We have jumped off the cliff of dog-ownership, and are looking at long-term!! Oh HELP ME!!!!

This is what it really comes right down to. This little boy needs a companion....and I think it just might work out great!!
