Today we spent a good part of the day up at Brighton. I hadn't been there since I was a teenager, when we used to go stay in my sisters cabin. It was fun to take a look at that cabin--looks just the same today. Today I thought we'd take a stroll along the boardwalk that goes around Silver Lake. But as you can see from the pic--we ended up way above Silver Lake.
We decided to take the two mile hike to see Brighton Twin lakes. Oops--since we weren't planning that, we didn't bring any water bottles from the car. But we still made it OK. Darin gave both the kids piggy-back rides and shoulder rides. FYI--Logan weighs somewhere near 80+ pounds!!
The view at the lake was worth the hike. The kids explored and threw rocks in the lake. And "the boys" laid down right on a big rock for a rest.
My favorite part about being up in the mountains is...THE TREES!!!! Aaaahhhhhh. The smell, sound, and sight of those TREES!!
We also stopped in Salt Lake to eat, and went to the new TCBY frozen yogurt in Sugarhouse. LOVE it--self-serve, sample all the flavors first, do your own toppings, etc. Perfect way to spend the day with the fam.
