Cache County Fair 2010 --Post 1

While Darin and I were on our mini-vacation, the kids were with Grandma and Aunt Rachie. Grandma and Grandpa let the kids pick produce from Grandpa's prize garden. Then Grandma Marilyn brought the kids to enter their picks in the fair. How fun is that!!! I LOVED doing that when I was a kid!! The kids won four ribbons, and over $5 each. I may have been more excited than they were. The Cache County Fair is THE PLACE to go to a fair. No disrespect to my current county of residence--but they just do not know how to "do" a fair.

The Cache County Fair feels like being in "Charlotte's Web". My niece and nephew, Shay and Wyatt, each showed their sheep and got ribbons and money!! We had fun looking at all the livestock, bunnies, chickens, goats, pigs, etc. We always keep an eye out for Wilbur and Charlotte. The kids waded in the creek running through the fairgrounds. Ah...the same memories of my childhood!!

Bunches of my family spent the day with us at the fair--we were there for about ten hours. We had blankets and coolers in the shade as our home-base. We were near the entertainment stage. At one point Ronald McDonald was doing a magic show. He called Ellie up on stage to be his helper. He was funny and the kids laughed and laughed.

We ate snow cones, pizza, BBQ pork, etc. Gotta love all that traditional fair food!!
