Wednesday morning I had a bit of a meltdown. Health issues, kids putting me over the top, etc. I called Darin in tears. Within 30 minutes we had a much-needed two night get-away booked online, and arrangements made for the kids. We were on our way to getting away within a couple of hours. A HUGE THANK YOU to Grandma Marilyn and Aunt Rachie for taking the kids at the last minute and making it such a fun time for them!!
By dinner time we were checked into the Logan Anniversary Inn. We stayed in the VERY room we had stayed in 15 years ago, on our wedding night!! Aphrodite's Court. It's one of the few rooms that has not been renovated over the years. I've always wanted to go back to that same room--only took us 15 years to get there.
We were welcomed with complimentary cookies, cheesecake, and cider. And that evening they delivered complimentary movie treats, drinks and popcorn. And of course, breakfast was delivered to our room in the morning.
We had a great time. There is a good view of the Logan temple outside our room. We ate dinner at our favorite Chinese place, Formosa, and lunch the next day at another favorite, Hamilton's Steak House. We shopped like crazy--school clothes for the kids, work clothes for Darin, shoes for me, sporting goods, etc. LOVE it that Darin LOVES to shop!! We watched movies, and of course, soaked in the huge in-room tubs for two.
So, yes, we got to stay in the same room we stayed in on our wedding night. But...that also means the room is a bit old. We ignored anything that didn't seem up to par. Then...in the morning....a bug!!! Yep, right on the bedspread was a really weird bug. Alive. I caught it with a tissue and brought it to the front desk. Twenty minutes later a manager came to our room and apologized profusely. Our $209.00 room was now complimentary. FREE!!! It may have needed to be updated, and there may have been a bug on the bed---but it was FREE!!
The next day we checked into a different hotel. Our favorite spot to stay!! Just a regular hotel, but The Honeymoon Suite!! Can't say where--it's top secret. It felt great to check into a place that was modern and fresh. We ate out at the Mexican place, Cafe Sabor, and ate Ben and Jerry's in our room. Wish we could have stayed for a week!!
The next morning we checked out, went to pick up the kids, and headed to the Cache County Fair!! The fun continues.......now with kids in tow.

Wow - sounds like it couldn't get much better (ok, minus the bug). Glad you were able to get away for a few days (sorry I called and interupted such a fun getaway). Leave to you to throw together a last minute vacation.
Who knew you snuck in the perfect get-a-way?! Sounds like it fixed you up just right :)
We are going away this weekend and I CAN'T WAIT! Looks like a fun time...bugs and all.
