Stansbury Days 2010...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We LOVE living in a small community. Today is the annual Stansbury Days celebration. There are a ton of events going on--we participated in only a few. This morning we started out watching the parade. The kids got more candy than they do at big parades--which they of course, loved!! And it's so fun to see people we know in the parade--neighborhood kids in dance groups and the new high school groups, our neighbor driving the fire truck, even my OBG doctor. Now that's small town!!

Next we headed to the clubhouse to donate our four cakes that we made to help out the Lakepointe Dance Troupe. We bought lots of tickets to support the group--they are the competition team at Ellie's dance company. The kids each won a cake, a 2-liter of soda, a free Happy Meal, and a free Coldstone cone!! They scored. We also got them wristbands for the bounce houses--which were a total waste of money, since they barely even played on them!!! And when we went back this afternoon, they we taking them down. Gggrrr!!

We went back for the annual frog-hopping competition. This year we didn't catch our own frogs--never made it out in the dark, in a boat. Gotta catch those hoppers at night!! But, the gal in charge always has dozens of extra frogs for people to choose from. So this year we opted to borrow a frog. It was hot and unorganized. Luckily I signed the kids up right at the top of the list, so we didn't stay long. But it's always worth it to see the kids hold a frog--love it!!

HOME SWEET HOME!!!

We sure love our little community too! But we didn't fare quite as well... 2 flats during the triathalon, no goodies/prizes won, frog lost in car/ found dead the next morning.... Hopefully we'll have your luck next year!
