This morning we left bright and early to head to Cache Valley. The kids cousin, Ada, was baptised today. I really wanted to be there for the kids to see her be baptised. It's not long before it will be their turn to be eight years old and get baptised too. So it's great for them to see their cousins taking the same step. Ada was adorable!! A special day for her.

Ellie and Ada played together the rest of the day...so fun for them. We don't see our
Daugs cousins nearly enough. Here the two of them are swinging in princess dresses, eating apples from
Bonka's orchard, and playing in the playhouse.

We had a fun picnic in
Ada'a backyard with bunches of the
Daugs clan. Below is sweet little miss
Aleena, and a pic of Ellie going down the
fireman's pole. FYI--that is the VERY pole I went down my entire childhood!! It belonged to our neighbors, the Weavers. It is huge--a real
fireman's pole. When the Weavers were going to get rid of it,
Ammon got it. Now thirty years later, our kids slide down the same pole. Love that kind of connection.

We spent a little time at my Dad's place--
Bonka Don. Ellie and Avery Helped me pick a bunch of apples from the orchard to bring home with us. (See them on the ladder.) Part of the
fam was making a batch of apple juice. I was lucky enough to snag a gallon--and I never even cranked the apple press!!
SSSHHH!! Had to take a pic of the juice in Diet Coke bottles. Looks like we're
makin' our own brand of moon-shine. You never know with
Bonka Don!!

This year my little brother, Nate, tried to produce his own honey. He has these wooden boxes that the bees built their honeycombs in. Today just happened to be harvest day for the honey. SO VERY COOL!!! First you have to scrape off the white outer part, to open up all the honey combs. Nate is doing that in the picture, with a very hot special honey knife. Then you put the wooden slats in a spinner, and all the honey seeps out. Then you strain it and--magic--your own honey!!!
I don't have nearly as many pictures of Logan today. He never held still long enough. (
Execpt when he played Nintendo.) But here he is with his cousins, Wyatt and Avery. They had a grand time today just being kids.
I took this picture of the kids playing at
Bonka Don's house--because this used to be my bedroom when I was a kid. We grew up in a little farm house and I LOVED it!! At one time or another I was in three different bedrooms. This is the room I was in when I was really little, and shared it with Naomi,
Ammon, and Nate. Yep--my little sis and two brothers. These were the days of sending one of the boys downstairs to load their underwear with cookies. He'd sneak back upstairs and share the goods!!! True story.
It was a great day in Cache Valley.
Ada'a baptism, family and food, apple picking, fishing and hunting for Darin, honey harvesting....and best of all....more time that usual for the kids with some of their
Daugs cousins!!!
Avery, Shay, Ellie, Ada, Logan, and Wyatt.
Thanks for a great day everyone!!

thanks for coming to Ada's baptism. We appreciate it. Ada loved spending the day with Ellie. Thanks for helping them and letting them tag along. I love your pictures. I am going to borrow some to put on my blog for my book if that is okay. They are super cute. Thanks again for coming. I came back downstairs to tell you thanks and goodbye ( while dealing with Ada) but, you were out the door and gone. Sorry. Thanks Miriam!
What a fun trip. Yes-- our kids will be getting baptised in no time!! Send some of that Moon Shine my way ;)
