Lovin' Laundry!!!

This week our washer finally gave out. Done. Never to spin another load of laundry. We've known it was coming for some time. We've had these babies for 15 years, and they were 4 years old when we bought them. So--they are nearly 20 years old. The washing machine has been shaking the whole house for years now.

For about a year we have had to stick a screwdriver in the little hole (see pic) to click the machine into gear.

And...the dryer door no longer closes. So we've had to use a dowel/stick to hold it closed. (see pic) And run the thing about 90 minutes to dry each load. So...it was time!!

This morning the RC Willey guys delivered these sweet machines!! I'm on my second load of laundry and they are working like a charm. Although I can't hear or feel anything--that's how I knew the old set was running. Ellie really wanted them to be red. I agree, red is cool. But, $1,000 more for the red was not an option.

We just missed the black Friday deals. But luckily we still got a stellar deal on this set. Good thing....since we just had to buy a new car (long story), and we just went on a vacation. Seems we just love throwing our savings out the window these days!!! Oh well, we are very blessed to have the savings to pay for what we need. Now time to keep working on that nest egg -- instead of spending it!!! I hear these machines use less detergent and water--maybe that will save a dollar or two. For now, I'm lovin' laundry!! Well maybe not the folding part--but the machines are fun!!
