Dates with Mom.

I always want to be one of those fun moms who pulls their kids from school for a fun mom-and-me-date. I am not sure if I have ever done it though...until now. Last week I got Ellie out of school for a couple of hours. We went to the hair salon and had her hair trimmed and fixed all cute. Then it was on to the nail salon to have her nails painted in the colors of her choice. Then we went to lunch together. We went to Jamo's Pizza and had cheese bread, cheese pizza, and ice-cream cones.

This week it was Logan's turn. We went to lunch at Applebees, his favorite spot to eat. Then we went to the arcade for a little while and he played games and earned tickets for a prize--a whoopie cushion. Lovely. Last stop was Sweet Lizzy's candy shop for a treat of his choice. He chose Pez.

It is so rare that we get one on one time with the kids. We say we want to do it more, but for some reason it is hard to make it happen. We are always all together. I loved having these special dates with the kids. It is so fun to enjoy their personalities without the other sibling interrupting or competing for the floor. And it sure makes them feel important. I MUST commit to doing it more often!!
