Childhood Rite of Passage....The V-Day Mailboxes!!

This is the first year for my kids to make their own Valentine's Day Mailboxes at home. I remember doing this when I was a kid! Oh the excitement!! In the past, the kids have made buckets, bags, or envelopes in class. But this year their teachers gave the kids the option to make a box at home if they wanted to . They wanted!! So tonight was the night. We scrounged around for boxes, paper, stickers, and even some printable Mario Valentine clip art for Logan.

I did the initial paper-wrapping of the boxes and the kids did the rest on their own--cutting out hearts, writing, etc. I think they turned out pretty great!!

This weekend will bring more Valentine fun.....making all the Valentines for friends and classmates, and making cupcakes and heart-shaped sugar cookies to frost and share. We're feelin' the LOVE around here.
