Day 4, still bonding with the girls!!

Our second day in Canada went way too quick. We slept in a bit. Then we went to a fabulous brunch at the Oak Bay Marina. Yum--diddly--yum--yum--yum!!! Our table was right by a huge wall of windows overlooking all the boats in the marina. This is the same marina where Sealand used to be when we were kids. It was a mini SeaWorld. We took a few minutes to swing on the big wooden glider swings that we always loved around the island. There are little daisies growing wild everywhere, and Rachel made a daisy chain crown, like she used to as a girl.

Back downtown we took a walk out on the jetty, where we used to go as a family. There was time for a little shopping, and then back to the ferry terminal for the rocky ride back to Washington. It was a funny ride with Amy and I getting a kick out of trying to walk up and down the hallways with the boat rocking side to side. We had a few people ask us what was in our drinks. Funny!! Back at The Cottage on Bainbridge, we had dinner and got our comfy PJ's on. Then Shari had something special planned in memory of mom. My Mom was always doing service and always sewing, so we worked on fleece blankets to donate. Previous to this week, we had each shared with Shari a personal memory we had with Mom, one that maybe everyone was not aware of. Shari had prepared a gift for each of us to go along with our memory. It was a touching, emotional, and fun night as we all shared something personal about our relationship with Mom. Shari put so much thought into the gifts she gave us to go along with these treasured memories. Our Mother was one in a trillion. Never to be duplicated, try as we may. We love her and miss her, and honor her. And that night we ate big ole bowls of ice-cream, just like she would have.
