Darin has a co-worker from Tibet. We have heard a few interesting stories from him, and he always brings back gifts after visiting his home country. Today he sent Darin home with a long string of Tibetan Prayer Flags. I have seen many of these as Darin and I have watched a few seasons of an Everest climbing show. I just think they are so cool, and decided to string them around the deck.

Here is some info. about what the prayer flags symbolize.
*They come in sets of five repeating colors representing the sky, wind, fire, water, and earth.
*The center of each flag features a Lung ta, a powerful horse bearing three flaming jewels on it's back. These represent speed in transforming back fortune to good.
*The flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength and wisdom. The prayers are believed to be blown by the wind to spread goodwill and compassion into all space, bringing benefit to all.
So--we hang them on our deck for all of you who we love!!
