Eastern Idaho Vacation Continued...

The Mesa Falls Scenic Byway was incredible!! Here we are looking down on the Lower Mesa Falls from a lookout point. You'll see that Logan's little puppy angel and Ellie's doll, baby Sarah, were with us for much of our trip.
At the Upper Falls they have a visitors center, which is a very old cabin form the early explorers. I loved the front porch of this cabin. I want it. They had a fun room with all kinds of animal pelts and skulls for the kids to check out.
The falls were amazing!!
Mesa Falls Scenic Byway follows the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. The world renowned, very famous Henry's Fork. People travel from all over the world to fly fish here. It is food for the soul for sure. We had dinner at a lodge, in Island Park, right on the river. We ate out on the deck to enjoy the view.
After dinner we spent a couple of hours playing in the river. Darin fished, the kids played on the bank and in the water, and I soaked in as much of the view and peace as I possibly could.
Looks like a scene from a movie. A storm was rolling in.
The kids were as free as birds. No technology. Absolute nature. And they got along beautifully!!

The wildflowers were blooming everywhere we went for this entire trip. Every color, everywhere!!
Here you can barely see the Grand Tetons in the background.
And here's the view as our home base, Driggs, ID, is coming back into view after a day out.
We were speechless at the mile after dozens of miles of farmland. Huge, amazing farms of wheat and famous Idaho potatoes. It was truly beautiful. Not sure if the kids thought so. But Darin and I could not get enough of the drives out and about among the fields. The green never ended.
Now this is farming!!
No end in sight. It looked like an ocean of green as the breeze blew the crops.
I'll take it. Lots of land and a little farmhouse. With the mountains right out my back door. One day......one day!!!
Grand Targhee ski resort is just up the road from where we stayed. Darin brought his road bike and took a few early morning rides while we were in Idaho. One day he road up to the ski resort. When we drove it the next day, I saw how totally uphill and hard that nearly 30 miles was. Whew!! Here we are riding the ski lift to the top of the resort. So fun.
The view looks down into the Teton Valley. Now one of my favorite places ever!! I seriously had no idea that Idaho was this amazing!!
Having a picnic at the top with the Grand Tetons right behind us.
And Teton Valley right below us. (FYI, for those of you who are disoriented...Jackson Hole is just on the other side of the Mountain.)
We had to keep the kids close by up here with all the cliffs and drop offs.
Eastern Idaho vacation continues in the next blog post.
