Summer Sports Camp

This week Logan and Ellie have been participating in a summer sports camp each night from 6-9 pm. (This has made for some late nights and we are glad that part is over.) The camp was run by The Waters Edge, a Christian church in our area. It was so amazing. Ellie did cheer camp and Logan did flag football camp. Only $10 for the entire week, including snacks, certificates and a swim party on the last night. The groups were run by mostly teenagers from the Waters Edge congregation. They had little group pep meetings where they did teach the kids about God and Jesus, and said prayers. Not like the ones we are used to at our church. But I think it was so good for the kids to see that people do things differently. Ellie loved it that her cheer coaches prayed for her by name. Logan was oblivious to anything religious-based happening. He LOVED flag football, and I think that will be the sport we put him in for fall season. And of course Ellie loved the cheers and dances she learned. Most importantly, I loved it that their coaches were so positive and showed the kids that they believe in God and in asking him for help.
It was such a great week of camp. I HOPE they do it again next year.
