Ellie and her wonderful ballet instructor, Miss Elisse. Miss Elisse was the Sugar Plum Fairy. Ellie was a party girl. Notice how their costumes coordinate. So beautiful!!
Ashley Sizemoore played the part of Clara, the same night that Ellie played the part of the baby mouse. Ellie so admires her, and was super excited to get to act out a scene with her.
We had about two minutes total, to get Ellie out of her pink party girl costume and into her mouse costume. Whew!! She had a cute little part where Clara wakes up on the couch and runs around with Ellie, as they chase each other. Ellie does a few little dance steps, lost of leaps and hops, and a back walk-over. Then she follows the mouse Queen around and joins the big mice as they fight the soldiers. When the mouse Queen (her mommy) dies, Ellie cries big, obvious sobs. So cute!!
My camera does not capture on-stage action very well. But here are a couple of shots of Ellie during the party scene.
Darin brought Ellie a little Nutcracker ornament and a stuffed animal. Grandma and Grandpa Jones came down to see Ellie perform, and brought her a fun little package. And Amy G. and her family came, and brought Ellie flowers!!! Whoa...what a fan club!! Rachel,Naomi and Aleena came as well. And sweet baby Cutler!!
It was so fun to see and interact with so, so many wonderful people that we know and love, during the practices and performances. The Dance Centre is amazing and the folks who bring their kids there for dance instruction are the best!! Love the girls, the families, the instructors, and the owner who makes it all possible, Kathie.
Ellie did a fabulous job this year. She did not show any nervousness at all, while on stage. She smiled and reacted to the party scene with all kinds of expression. Her ballet moves are beautiful to watch!! A natural for sure!! So proud of our little ballerina girl!!
