Jones Family Christmas Party 2011.

After the Daugs morning Christmas party, we headed south to Dean and Michele's plantation for a Jones party. This is what we did....shot shotguns!! It's just SO Jones!! There I am...yep, I shot the thing. Once. Period. And yes, there ARE SIX guns in this picture!!

Dalynn got a brand new shotgun ten minutes before the shoot....a Christmas present from Fode and Mel. And FYI, the girl can shoot!! There's Ellie in the background...getting old enough to be in awe at the redneckedness of our family parties.

And Darla. Dear Darla. I don't know if she ever hit one. But the guys sure made her think she did. What great brothers!!

I didn't take nearly enough pictures. Michele had lots of fun games for everyone....Minute to Win It games, the Grinch gift exchange game, a pinata, painting glass ornaments, and more. Total fun for everyone. Here are a bunch of the gang watching the new LDS Nativity movie. This is the ONLY moment of the entire night that slightly resembled calm and stillness. It is always quite a commotion when we are together. Dave sent out an e-mail after the party. It was perfect....

In one of his popular stories "A Christmas Carol" .... Dickens beautifully describes what I think might be aptly applied to our extended Jones family. I wonder if he wasn't present at one of our reunions or gatherings when he wrote the following:

"The noise in this room was perfectly tumultuous, for there were more children there, than Scrooge in his agitated state of mind could count; and, unlike the celebrated herd in the poem, they were not forty children conducting themselves like one, but every child was conducting itself like forty. The consequences were uproarious beyond belief;"

Dickens was a genius."

There could not be a more accurate quote for the Jones gatherings. Merry Christmas Jones Family!!
