The Easter bunny finally got a little wiser this year and came hopping for a visit on Saturday instead of Sunday. That hoppy rabbit left all these fun surprises for the kids.
We spent the day doing yard work, enjoying the sunshine, dying eggs, and doing our own Easter egg hunt in the yard. The kids chose not to go to any local hunt this year. Wahoo!! They have finally decided that the "scramble" with a billion other kids is not so great after all. At home, just us, worked out perfect!
The wise idea was to do all the "bunny" stuff on Saturday and keep Sunday a little more peaceful celebrating what Easter is all about. So far, so good. Last night we read bunny stories, tonight we'll read about the Resurrection. We had a yummy Easter dinner with ham, rolls, deviled eggs, and cake. We took a family bike ride and asked the kids their version of why we have Easter. Having these pictures up for a couple of weeks hopefully helped them remember why we do all this celebrating of new life. Not just so the Bunny will hop by our house.
Happy Easter everyone!
