A Wedding On Bainbridge: Part One

This will be the condensed version of the past week. You'll just have to trust me that many small miracles amount to moving mountains when combined. This first collage of pictures is out of order....but to me, it's what this week was all about. It was about Shari and I doing all we could to make Amy's wedding day be all she'd hoped it would. It was about this man, who is so meant to be with Amy, and a part of our family. A man I knew would change my sisters life, even before we met. This week was full of emotions and reflections and tears and relief and peace and joy. Am I my sisters keeper? Forever!!
Ahhh.....back to Bainbridge. With the business of the wedding, we didn't have time to go out and do and explore like on other trips. But we managed to squeeze a few little excursions in. I was there for five nights. One perfect night at Shari's cottage before the masses arrived. And one peaceful night in a hotel all by myself. I listened to most of General Conference alone and loved every word of it. Then three nights in a fabulous guest house on an equestrian farm, The Wacky Nut Farm, with my Dad and Jill, Naomi and baby Cutler, Rachel, Alison, Christy, and Bryan's sister, Jalean. It was the perfect place to stay. Very nice accommodations, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, huge family room area, laundry room, and an extremely green, serene, peaceful setting. Loved it!! I'll go back for sure.
We were staying just a three minute walk from the Buddhist Prayer Wheel, one of my favorite spots on the island.
We all loved getting to know our new little niece, Sydney. It was so cute to watch her listen to Dad's stories....the very same stories we heard when we were her age. Sydney loved all the constant attention from so many adults. A perfect time for her to be spoiled. But I can't wait for her to meet all her new cousins!! They will love her so much!! MariAna is doing so great with having this new little sister. They played and played and Girly was so kind to Sydney, even though she is not in love with her own world changing so much all the time.
Traditional visit to Poulsbo for shopping and bakery eats.
Wedding prep. And lots more wedding prep. Oh, and we did wedding prep. The first two days I was there, we changed who would perform the ceremony three times, and in the end it was who Bryand and Amy originally really wanted...Larry. And we changed wedding venues three times, ultimately ending up with the best possible scenario for the weather, and a place that was never even an idea until 48 hours before the wedding. No problem!! Which all involved some expected emotions and some teary conversations. And the realization over and over again that God is so very good! So mindful of every detail of how this all came together. Not really my story to share all the details, but my privilege to have seen it all happen.
Sunday night dinner at The Whyte House. Lasagna, homemade rolls, and six homemade pies. All whipped out by Shari as if it's no big deal at all.
This little Cutler boy is an ANGEL!!! I have honestly never, ever known a happier, more content baby. He was a joy to have around. The day I left Malachi and Malauri were saying how they wish Cutler could have stayed longer!!
It was pretty funny that we had four laptops at Shari's place, always several in use at once, and all kinds of texting and technology.
The wedding dinner the night before: Mexican place in Winslow. Yummy food. Fun times!! Forgot my camera, had to use my phone.
Next post: The Wedding!!
