New additions to our place...

A month ago, I scored this trampoline at a yard sale. We had a trampoline for a couple of years, a few years ago. But it was a Walmart special.....the net fell apart super quick, the entire thing was pretty light weight and cheap and the whole dang thing flew OVER our fence to the park in a massive storm one year. We got tired of it, and a little worried about several broken bones that occurred that year in friends and family on other trampolines. (Not our bones, not our trampoline.)
The kids have been wanting another one for a couple of years now. We really don't have the space for it, and Darin hates to move it when he mows the lawn. And the stats really ARE scary for injuries on trampolines. But I just could NOT pass this deal up at a yard sale. This is a SERIOUS trampoline!! It's a sixteen footer and heavy duty. Those are not the lightweight metal legs, and the net is thick mesh. I don't know how old it is, but it is in fabulous shape, and has been taken apart and stored every winter. I can't even find one online to compare prices...so maybe it's old? But I got the thing for $80. And even the smaller size, lower quality ones are several hundred bucks....so I was feeling pretty great about my deal!! Luckily it all fit in the van with the seat down. I bought it.....and THEN I sent Darin a text telling him I did so. Not how we usually do things......but he was out of phone service and I was in a time crunch. Darin was a little shocked at the "sixteen footer" part. Now the kids are bouncin' the summer away....and I love it! And I pray for no broken bones. We do have a strict rule...only two kids on at a time. I know it sounds silly, but the fewer collisions, the better. Most tramp accidents are from crashing into each other, not falling off. Happy jumping!

Another addition to the yard this summer is this little shed. We had to assemble it, which took a little time. We debated about getting something like this. But the garage was overflowing and something had to be done. And this little vinyl number fit just perfectly on the cement slab in the backyard. (The cement slab that we poured for a dog kennel. For a dog we only  had for one year.) We also took a load of stuff to the DI. It is so great to be in the garage and actually have a bit of space now!! And FYI--that dog we had, Lucky, is doing great at the cousins rural home. He has space, six kids who run around outside and entertain him, and a mom-owner who likes him. He barks at wild turtles that wander into the yard, and gets walked each day. He still will only "stay" and "kennel up", the two commands Darin taught him. So they are thinking of taking him and the whole family to dog school. Once in awhile we are a little nostalgic about Lucky, but we know we just do not have the space for a dog where we live. So we are super happy he has such a great Jones family taking care of him!!

And since I had the camera out today....here's a shot of 1/3 of our garden. It's the only 1/3 that I ever got planted this year. The other two boxes are weeds....maybe I can still get something in there? Is it too late? At least we'll have carrots, peas, and pumpkins!!

Happy Summer!!
