Colorado Vacation: Day 8.

Saturday was the best day in Colorado! Darin and Devarie started out at the crack of dawn for a 40 mile bike ride on the paved bike trail. They rode to Breckenridge and back. As soon as they got home, we jumped in the car to catch up with the other carload, back at Breckenridge. We rode the free gondola (Fun, long ride.) up to the resort. Devarie rode it right back down to hook up with the others. The four of them were off to hike to the top of Buffalo Mountain....a pretty intense hike!

Our family took the ski lift up and rode the alpine slide.

The kids each rode their own sled. The guys went first at a zippy speed, and the gals went next at a leisurely pace.

We rode the gondola back down to the the town area of Breckenridge for lunch. There were flowers everywhere, and we saw this hummingbird right next to the sidewalk. It was fascinating to watch it so close up. So pretty!

Loved the wildflowers everywhere we went. And the perfect temperatures! The high each day was the mid seventies, with a few nice thunderstorms during the week. Aaahhhh. One of my favorite things during that few days, was to lay on the bed in our room, in the middle of the day,  with the windows wide open and the perfect breeze blowing through the house, birds singing......I know, it sounds like a primary song!!

After lunch it was a quick trip to buy the bike Ellie had decided on. She chose to go with the colorful cruiser. So FUN!! I think I might  be jealous!! She had been needing to upgrade her bike, and we figured this was as good a time as any. She is super happy with it, and was SO excited to show it to her aunts....she kept asking when they'd be back from their hike.

We loaded up the bikes and headed up the canyon to Copper Mountain resort. Then we rode our bikes back down the canyon on the paved bike trail. Colorado, both in the big city of Denver, and in these small mountain towns, has more paved bike trails than I have ever seen anywhere!! The city of Denver has 80 miles of paved bike trails. And in the mountains the paved trails go from one ski town to another, and everywhere in between!! It is awesome!!

We ended up in the charming little town of Frisco, on main street. We relaxed in the historic park and toured all the original little cabins and buildings.

The kids were happy to pose for each place...pooping in the outhouse, praying at the church, and trying to escape from the jail.

It was a great place to land after our bike ride, since we had to wait for Darin to take the bus back up the canyon to get the car.

It didn't take us long to find ice-cream on that perfect little main street.

Next we headed to the Dillon marina to let the kids play on the unique playground equipment, while Darin and I enjoyed the views.

FYI-That round mountain is Buffalo Mountain, the one that the girls and Brandon were hiking to the tip TOP of!! They saw a mother and baby mountain goat and two foxes on their hike.

Back to the condo to hot tub, shower, relax, etc. Then we all headed out to dinner together. This sign was outside the restaurant, and we thought we for we needed to take a picture of the two princesses in the group!

We ate at the Arapahoe Cafe, which is a BBQ place. It was super YUM!!

Self-portraits with the kids after dinner.

The restaurant was right near the Dillon marina. So after dinner we headed over there for the free Saturday night concert.

I was in the second group to arrive at the park. When I got there...this is what I found. See that little red T-shirt right down in front at the corner of the stage........that is Logan. That is Logan jammin' out to the music, bustin' a move like I had no idea he would do in public, with strangers. That boy was going to town, I'm telling you!! None of our group was down there with him. Just him, gettin' down like there was no tomorrow!! It might be the best thing I've ever seen, and we were all laughing. A LOT!

Later on, he did get Darin to join in. Anyone who knows Darin, knows he does not dance, especially in public!! But he'll also do ANYTHING for his kids!!

Here are Brandon and Darin's three adorable sisters, Dalynn, Devarie, and Darla....enjoying the concert. The band and vocalists were pretty darn good...and it was all 80's music!! SaaaaWEET!!

The grand finale song of the night was...."you gotta fight, for the right, to paaaaaaarty"!! Oh yeah.
Darin took these pics as the daylight disappeared. Perfect end to a perfect day!
