Giggly Girls...

Awhile back I had a chance conversation with my friend, Katrina, about the age and stage of our daughters. This year has been a challenge in some ways, for many of the kids in this age group. Much of it having to do with friends, bullying each other, and the ups and downs that come with finding out who you are in the crowd. So Katrina, being the awesome gal that she is, asked me to help host a party for a group of girls. A group of girls made up of girls from different groups...does that make sense? Just an opportunity to break down some walls and let them all have fun together. It was a super idea and has had good results at school.

At the party we had pizza and treats, played the Gum Game and the Candy Bar Game, and made little notebooks to keep as friendship journals. The girls wrote in each others books.

We have some pretty amazing kids in our community. I'm grateful that there are those who can be good examples and real friends to my own kids. Thank you Katrina for the great idea! Hopefully the first of many parties that will help bridge the gap between girls who haven't had the chance to become friends yet.
