Activity days and kids in Kosovo.

These two kids, Mirlind and Merlinda, were baptized a few weeks ago in Kosovo, where my in-laws are on a mission. They are twins who just turned eight years old. They are two of a teeny tiny primary spread across many miles in Kosovo.

They were baptized in white jumpsuits, just like all the LDS kids here are baptized in white jumpsuits. Here are a few of my Activity day girls on their baptism days.

But here where we live, it's tradition that the girls change into their new, special baptism dress before they are confirmed. We all take lots of pictures and the dress is a special reminder of that special day. They don't have the white dress tradition in Kosovo.

So, our Activity Day girls bought a special white dress for Merlinda, wrote her some letters and sent pictures of these girls on their baptism days.....and sent it off to Kosovo! I heard today that the dress has arrived and my in-laws are so excited to deliver it to little Merlinda!

We also sent a CTR tie for her twin brother, Mirlind. And.....their older sister, Melisa, is the ONLY LDS young women (age 12-18) in the entire country of Kosovo!! So we sent her some YW jewelry with value colored beads. We are excited to hear how these kids enjoy their gifts, and hopefully see pictures. It is so fabulous to have parents on a mission like this....fun for us to be involved a little bit.
