I am a "list" kind of person. The kind who will often write a mental checklist of what I have already done today, not just what I need/want to get done. Sometimes it feels like I don't do a darn thing by the end of the day. So for the record....a list of what I have done today, so far.
*Booked our Oregon vacation home for July. Finally!! (After hours and days of previous searching.)
*Took the kids to the dentist for check-ups. No cavities!!
*Emptied, defrosted and cleaned the deep freezer in the garage. Sad to say how much expired, very old food went into the trash.
*Which meant I had to reorganize the inside freezer to make some room. We'll likely sell the deep freeze. We bought it back in the day when I was all about coupon shopping and frozen meals groups. That day has passed.
*Wiped down the back door and steps leading to the garage...will paint them before bed tonight.
It's 2:00 in the afternoon. Seems like I should have a lot more done by now. I want to ship-shape up my house this summer. Which leads me to my question....are they old enough? My kids are ten years old. Are they old enough to not destroy the walls if I go to all the effort of repainting a large part of the house this summer? I hate interior painting. But it needs it SO badly!! The family room and kitchen, stairways and basement halls, and playroom. Not to mention the office and half bath which have never been painted. Still just white and ugly after living here for nine plus years! It' snot like my kiddos are destructos more than any other kids. But I am almost certain they ruin things and get things filthier now, compared to when they were preschoolers. But I am the kind of mom who is going to freak if they damage a newly painted wall before the end of the summer. So should I paint???? I hate to paint!!
