Oregon Vacation 2013 Day 4.

One of our favorite things to do on the coast is to explore the tide pools. This year we really lucked out because this week happens to be a super rare week of minus tides, which are super low tides that rarely happen. This particular morning, lowest tide was at 8:00. So we were out of the house early to get to our favorite spot right, Boiler bay, at low tide, which gave us hours of awesome exploration. When we arrived we could NOT believe how far out the water was. It was amazing to be able to walk out so far and explore areas that are almost always covered with water.
So many star fish and sea urchins and anemone and just col stuff!!

Ellie is up above the old ship boiler, which the bay is named for. Most of the time you can't even see the boiler because it is under water. So this was amazing! This boiler is from a ship the sunk in 1910.

Logan found an old rusty knife and was on a pirate treasure hunt the whole time.

He was wet and filthy and yes, bleeding. And happy as a clam!

Later on we ate at Mo's. We are still fans of the original Mo's in Newport, but it was fun to have one so close to where we were staying.

We did some shopping at the outlets and I shopped by myself at a handful of antiques shops and found a few things I was looking for. I love the hunt of antique stores....the rest of my family, not so much.

That night it was too foggy and cold to go to the beach, so Darin took the kids to the local indoor community pool. I stayed at the vacation cottage alone....aaaahhhhh.
