I believe there are currently seven wildfires around the state of Utah. So tragic for those who have lost property, especially those who lost homes near Rockport and today in the fire nearest to us, the Patch Springs Fire. It's been burning for almost a full week now. It's been a week of orange sunsets and red suns and even red moons some nights, and orange light shining into the house in the early evenings. I guess because of all the smoke and ashes in the air? Thank heavens we have men and women who work around the clock to keep the beast at bay, as much as possible, and slowly put it out. This is a shot of our driveway Thursday morning. Ashes. From miles and miles away.

Here's a close-up from a news report.

And this is pretty much what our view has been all week. Lots of smoke coming off the other side of the mountain, off in the distance. Sometimes we can see the flames and line of fire. And beautiful sunsets.
