Our adoption being finalized in court was a big deal for sure. The most important reason being that once Logan and Ellie were legally and lawfully "ours", we were able to take them to the temple. Here we were given the beautiful, sacred blessing of being sealed together, as a family, not just for this earth life, but for eternity. It was pretty much perfect! Two little angels all dressed in white! There is a beautiful place where the four of us knelt, with a very intricate, delicate, beautiful crocheted lace cloth. And...yep, Logan spit up all over it during the ceremony. oops!

We wanted to have Keri be a part of this important day somehow. Darin carried a white handkerchief with the Logan temple on it, in his pocket, and I wore a locket around my neck. We put pictures of the day in the locket and sent both things to Keri, along with Logan and Ellie's little white socks, as keepsakes for her. She brought these beautiful children into this world and will always be a part of who they are, of who we are. So it is important to us that she be represented in their lives, and never more important than on this day, when our forever family is possible...because of her.
A lot of life is lived in a decade, even though it flies by way to fast! When I look back now, the paralyzing fear that shot through me when I was given the awesome responsibility of these two blessings, was warranted after all!!! This raising kids, and hopefully teaching them what they need to know in this life, is no easy task....especially for parents who are still fumbling along still learning what we need to know in this life! But it's so worth it...our greatest joy, the one thing we do in this life that truly matters....we are a family!
