See those two apples? The really dark one and the lighter one.......they are growing on the same tree! Years ago my dad grafted different types of apple trees together. I can remember him doing this. But I don't remember why?

Years later, I think it is pretty amazing that these completely different varieties of apples grow on the very same tree! I think it is the perfect object lesson for the miracle of adoption. Logan and Ellie are 100% our family, as if they had grown right from us. They were "grafted" in to our family and now will forever grow as a permanent part of our family tree. Two varieties of apples/two sets of genes. One tree/one family.

Pretty amazing! And fun for our family that Bonka Don grafted these apple trees, since he has four adopted grandchildren!
