Yesterday a sister was asking me if Ellie was as involved/busy this year with dance as she was last year. I immediately said no. She is not doing jazz and she is not doing gymnastics. She is only doing ballet this fall, by her own choice. Whew! Then I thought about it for a second. She has ballet 5 one day for ninety minutes. And pre-pointe ballet for an hour another day. And come to think of it, she has three hours of Nutcracker ballet practice every Saturday, for going on two months now, with a couple more months to go. So, I guess she actually has five and half hours of ballet a week. Yep, I think that's a lot for girl who is "just" taking ballet this fall!!

But, she loves it and has a great attitude about it this year. Did I mention she chose to do just ballet and not jazz or gymnastics? I was shocked, but silently very happy!!

Here she is showing a pose from each of her three Nutcracker roles: An angel who leads Clara into her dream, a Candy Cane (the Russian dance), and the snake charmer (the Arabian dance).
She also keeps busy this fall learning to play the flute three early mornings a week with the school band program, and she has Activity Days a couple of times a month. For now, we'll take this schedule for her....it's more calm than last year, and likely won't last.....so we'll savor it while we can!!
