Christmas Eve 2013.

The kids get to open a couple of presents on Christmas Eve. The traditional new PJ's. I love pajamas for kids. Sooner or later the kids always revert back to wearing Dad's old T-shirts and sport shorts to bed. So once or twice a year I like to clear that junk out and get them a couple of pairs of real PJ's.

Their other gifts are their annual ornaments to add to their personal collection. The idea is for them to have a set of ornaments of their own when they grow up and leave the nest. Although.....I am a little attached to the ornaments myself!! I should have been purchasing two of each one all these years!
This is a Broncos Christmas for Logan....so both his ornaments are of course, Denver Broncos. 

Ellie chose one of her own ornaments this year, when we went to see The Nutcracker at Ballet West. She has quite a collection of ballet and Nutcracker related ornaments on the tree! Her surprise ornament is this little sleeping kitty cat.

Devin came to stay overnight with us for Christmas. It was fun to have him here! He brought some games to play with the all of us, and then he and Darin "tried" to help me wrap presents. In the end it as much easier for me to do it, and have those boys go watch  good, long movie! We read Luke 2 and the kids left out treats and letters for Santa. I told them they could NOT ask Santa for anything new at this point, because he was already en route and he could NOT go back to the North Pole to get new requests!! So Logan wrote, "I have been a good boy this year. I know you don't read the letters we set out because you can't run back to the north pole in time." Ellie left Santa his own little handmade notebook for him to write his "To Do Lists" in. 

Eventually Santa did make it to our place...it could have been around 3:00 AM. All gifts from Santa were wrapped in the red and green Santa paper, and left by the stockings, of course.

Perfect quiet of Christmas Eve!!
