Today we went here! Love, love, love it here!!! We watched some seals in the surf for awhile and saw some baby seagulls.

No whale sightings today because of the fog. This fog is so strange. Only a half mile away it's blue sky all day. The fog blows past in white wisps.
We ate lunch at The Chowder Bowl, and Darin was hoping it would be as good as he remembered it being. It was! We walked around the charming little town and I bought my traditional sweatshirt, and we all got ice-cream to eat in the foggy wind.
We did the Otter Crest Loop drive and spent time at the scenic sites. But more than the views, the kids loved this....feeding the squirrels and The Devils Punch Bowl picnic area.
After a day out and about, Darin and the kids relaxed at the house and played games, watched shows, etc. I went to a used book store and scored some awesome circus theme books for my classroom this year.
We all took a walk to our local beach here, during the foggy sunset. It was low tide so we were able to find some really pretty seashells, and got to explore the local tide pools, which we hadn't done yet.
We could have stayed for much longer looking at all the sea creatures and finding perfect little seashells, but.....Logan's flip flops (which he insisted on wearing) broke for the very last time. His feet already hurt from walking all over those barnacle-covered rocks in these flops, his ankle was bleeding with a new cut and his toes were ice. So when these flips fell apart again, it was his last straw. We left them right there on the sand to be taken away by the tide to a watery grave. And we took the boy home and let him soak in a hot bath, put ointment on his multiple cuts, gave him ibuprofen for his pounding headache, gave him healthy food to fill his belly, and snuggled that boy into bed for a long nights nap!!
Maybe tomorrow we should buy new flip flops!!

Man, too bad we couldn't match up and be there at the same time. Did you see that house on the outer crest loop? The one up all alone. We want that house.
