Yep, Logan had another seizure. Just a couple of hours ago. This one was different than others he has had. Scarier if you ask me!! He had just gone to bed not 30 minutes earlier. We heard a HUGE thud on the floor upstairs and bolted up there. It sounded way too heavy for a little boy--but I guess it was a pretty solid fall. No more waiting--tomorrow the new bed rail WILL be on the bed. Too bad if he's "all grown up" now and will feel bad having to have a bed rail again!! I think he'll feel worse if he breaks an arm or something!! I'm happy to say that I did not nearly faint this time. I stayed calm. I just stayed right by him through it all, and through coming out of it. Then I slept next to him for an hour in his bed.
He has been known to have seizures after being sleep deprived. What a coincidence!!! JUST TODAY he went to Primary's for an sleeping EEG test, as a follow up for his last seizure. We had to keep him up late last night and wake him up at 4:00 am this morning. So I would call that sleep deprived!! This is the first seizure (that we are aware of), that has happened in the evening/night part of the day. I did not faint, but am still freaking out. I'm afraid this may lead to having to medicate him for seizures. We've avoided that until now. But I think we might have reached that point. Guess we'll find out next week when we talk to the neurologist again. Does anyone have any family members on seizure meds?? Talk to me!!!!

I'm no help, but you'll be in my prayers.
Poor little guy!!! He has been through so much and is so good about everything. Give him a hug from "Jen". Glad he is OK...:>
That is so frustrating! I know of someone who has a son that has had quite a few seizures, I'll ask what they have done medication wise. Congrats on being a strong mom.
I wish i knew something, but really all i have is a passing out, coupled with a seizure, when Meghan got a shot a few months ago, (she will take her medicine sitting down from now on), and two more from Allyse, the most recent just a few days ago in the bathroom. After a long explanation from the doctor he said “don’t worry”. Ya right!
It must be heart stopping, and hair raising, to hear a thud at your house. My heart goes out to you! With all that love come some serious fear!
But if anyone can do it with grace and growth i believe you can!
I'm so sorry Miriam! Good luck figuring things out with your sweet boy.
I am sorry, Miriam. I hope you can get some answers and solutions soon!
O man not again. Will put him in our prays and put him on the Temple pray list. Hope things get better. If there is anything we can do just call us.
Miriam - I dated (and almost married) a guy that was on seizure medication & he did fine with it. He did have to switch a few times when I knew him because it stopped working. Also, he had to get a full nights sleep, if he stayed up late at all he'd have a seizure. But he only had a few seizures in the 5 years I knew him, 2 of them were because we stayed up too late (senior party, college, etc) and the other few were because his meds stopped working. Anyway, he always felt it was embarassing and super annoying that he had the problem, but the meds worked for him (until he needed to switch). He didn't have a choice but to take them and was told he'd have to the rest of his life. But you have to think - atleast they have meds for it! Good luck with everything! Poor Logan, he's such a cute kid - I wish he didn't have to go through all this!
Mirm,
I know this is late coming, but what did you find out about his seizures?? My hubby's cousin is on medication and she has seizures quite often. I am happy to do some research for you, what do you want to know? It is such a hard thing to watch and live through. Remember when Andrew had seizures? I kind of remember that, but I was watching that cousin of Adam's once when she had one. What a scary thing!
