"We're livin' in the zoo, zoo, zoo!!!! How about you, you, you??"

Neighborhood playgroup, or should I say the greater Salt Lake City area playgroup....was scheduled for Hogle Zoo yesterday. It was free zoo day, and there was a crowd of mamas hoping to take advantage of the experience at the zoo for their kiddos. After Logan got over his anxiety about the large numbers of people, it was smooth sailin'. We didn't actually hook up with anyone from our playgroup--although we did see a few of them in passing. We toured the zoo with my sisters Rachel, and Naomi, and our little cousin Aleena. That was the perfect combo for us, because Logan didn't want Aleena too far out of his sight. Having her nearby was his "leash".

The kids enjoyed the time at the zoo. We were lucky enough to make it there in time to enjoy the best spot of weather for the day. We did the regular stuff--played in the animal themed playground, rode the train, and took in the animal exhibits.

We stopped off at the picnic area in the Asian Highlands for a lunch break. Then the kids rode the new carousel. It is such a COOL merry-go-round!! Every ride is a different zoo animal, and the ride is painted with really neat animal habitat paintings. Logan rode a tiger, and Ellie "flew" on an eagle!! Great day at the zoo!! It's a place the kids love to go over and over. We used to have annual passes. But since those have expired, we rarely go. Once every six months ought to do it!! We'll be back next fall when they host free zoo day again!! Until then, our regular every day life is sufficient monkey business and wild animal behavior for me!! Surely all moms feel like they live in the zoo!!

Girl, you are way too on top of things!! I've got a back-log of things to post... Looks like you had a blast + made the the most of every attraction! It was fun, despite the crowds. Thanks for always keeping me posted on fun + free activities :)

Sounds like a fun day - and despite the wind, yesterday was rather nice and warm. Glad to see someone out there enjoying the spring preview - for it ended today with the snow.
