Ellie girl

Elleah McKelle!!! Our little Elle, Ellie girl, Baby girl, sweet treasure of a true princess!!! How we were so blessed to have such a beautiful, spirited, sweet, strong little girl for our daughter, I do not know. We are the luckiest mom and dad in the world!! Ellie is such a beauty, inside and out. She has a reputation at school for being kind and considerate and a good example for her classmates. She is very aware and attuned with what is going on around her-- a trait that keeps mom and dad on their toes. She is thoughtful and meaningful in her prayers, and understands who she is--A Child of God.

Determined is an understatement for this little gal. Over a year ago we were on a family hike. Darin decided to go off the trail and was heading straight up a mountain side of loose rock--and very steep. He took Logan's hand and pretty much pulled him up the mountain. I wasn't so able. I was scared myself and slipping all over the place. Ellie got scared and wanted to go back down. Whew!! So did I. We stumbled, fell on our rears, and made our way back down to a safe landing. Then she saw Daddy and Logan waving from WAY above us. After a few quiet minutes she said, "Mom, I think we better try again. I think maybe we can do it." Well, a mommy couldn't be more proud!!! So I tried my best and pulled that girl up the hill. We made it--she taught me we could make it!!

Ellie is a fierce, free spirit. She is so much like me it is exhausting!! We don't do much spanking in this house. But when the kids were four, I decided to try it. Or my hormones of the day decided to try it!! Ellie would not put her shoes on and get in the car. I turned her around and spanked her after exhausting my patience. And as quick as lightning she whipped right around and punched me in the leg. Automatic response--and then she glared at me. She starred me down in the rear-view mirror as we drove. Not a tear--not a word--just one little four year old determined to win a starring contest with a mom who had just dared to spank her!! Life happens on her terms for the most part---the teenage years should be lovely!!!

Posted by PicasaEllie has the softest cheeks ever. I love to kiss them over and over and rub the backs of my fingers on them. She loves to have back scratches, snuggle, and hold hands. She is a very talented artist, has a beautiful voice with perfect pitch, can dance like a fairy, and is everything parents could ever want in a daughter and so much more!!! As an infant she was our "Ellie bug" and I always sang a little song to her that I made up. It goes to the tune of the children's Christmas song, "Willy Claus". "Ellie bug, Ellie bug. Little Leah, Leah bug. Elleah McKelle Jones"!!! How we love our little bug!!!
