End of school fun!!!

As of the blogging of this post---Logan and Ellie have one official day of kindergarten left!!!! Yikes!!! Where did the year go?? Here are a few of the happenings this last week of school. (Note: I went with the kids on their class field trip to the zoo last week--but I must have deleted the pictures!!! So tragic!!)

Here Logan and Ellie are showing off their self-made ABC books. The parents were invited to the school to read the books. Every student in the school made a book to display. They call it "The night of 1000 stars."

I spent part of a day in each of the kids classes doing science this week. We did some of the kids favorites--counting how many drops of water a penny will hold, breaking the surface tension on a bowl of milk with food coloring (SO COOL!!!), and making the secondary colors from the primary colors. It was fun for all the students to experiment, and fun for me to be teaching in the classroom for a short time.

Today was "Beach Day" at school. The kids were asked to not wear their swimming suits unless they wore clothes over them. Ellie told me, "Mom, it's inappropriate." I'm pretty sure my kids swimming suits are MORE than appropriate--but Ellie opted for a leotard instead.

Here Ellie is playing with water and sponges, playing in the sand table, eating snacks with friends, and having the traditional big-water-party-treat....Otter Pops.

Here Logan is showing us his stuff with the hula-hoop, blowing bubbles, chowing on chips and playing water tennis.

The highlight of the day was a big blow-up water slide. The kids had a great time splashing and staying nice and cool today.
